Students and faculty at Montini Catholic are in the midst of celebrating the 300th anniversary of the death of John Baptist de La Salle, the founder of the De La Salle Christian Brothers. 2019 was declared by Pope Francis to be a Jubilee Year honoring the saint who passed away on (Good Friday) April 7, 1719.

On Wednesday, April 3rd the staff and students took advantage of the great weather and headed to the football field to form a gigantic 300 in honor of the jubilee year. The 'photo shoot' was organized by the school's Robotics 2 class, under the guidance of Technology Director, Mr. Pete Farina.

"Our students designed the '300' and then transferred their design onto the football field using about 600 poker chips, one chip for each member of our Montini school community," explained Mr. Farina, who estimated approximately 200 people per number.

Once the students and staff were on the field, a drone was flown above for the historic photo.
